Member Services

The Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership (GPNP) offers organizations a unified voice to present to our policy makers and government, a wealth of opportunities to network and connect with one another and a platform to share knowledge and create new ideas.

GPNP members create a greater impact through their combined advocacy, training, and united voice:

  • Through visits to the district offices of state and federal legislators, members represent each other while advocating on issues that cross nonprofit sector.
  • By training members in critical areas such as media relations, advocacy, nonprofit business models, fundraising from individuals, risk management and voter engagement.
  • By hosting community forums on issues including health insurance, public transportation, and the PA budget crisis.
  • Through the GPNP’s leadership, issues affecting the nonprofit sector are raised by writing op-eds and letters to the editors.

GPNP offers unique opportunities to participate in regional planning as an equal participant at the table.

  • Members engage in discussions on issues affecting the entire sector, hear from national speakers and get skill development in critical areas during annual and semi-annual meetings.
  • Members develop one-on-one relationships with other nonprofit leaders, particularly those outside of their own mission area.  Cross-issue alliances strengthen potential impact for our constituencies.
  • Members receive discounted registration to regional events, including the Nonprofit Summit.

GPNP offers our members opportunities to learn about the nonprofit sector in Southwest PA, the issues facing our region’s nonprofits, and access to experts to support member organization’s goals.

  • Our members are connected to thought leaders and cutting-edge thinkers through our resources, meetings and events specifically tailored to meet the needs of nonprofit executives.
  • Our events give members the knowledge to be strategic in their organization’s advocacy, and media relations activities.
  • Quarterly education/networking “Just Breakfast” sessions offer intimate gatherings to answer the most pressing questions of the day

GPNP offers our members a variety of ways to connect to colleagues and professionals who support the nonprofit sector.

  • Members are encouraged to attend quarterly member networking/education sessions and annual and semi-annual meetings.
  • Members educate each other about their view of the world, broadening member understanding of the sector beyond their own organization.
  • Members build their online network.  GPNP’s web site offers new ways to share challenges and questions with your peers through our GPNP members-only listserv.
