Public Policy Agenda

The 2012 Public Policy goals of the Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership are as follows:
- Set a policy agenda that identifies priorities and partners.
- Build a coalition of elected officials committed to speaking on behalf of the nonprofit sector.
- 100% of member agencies receive information on board engagement.
- 50% dedicate board time to discussing engagement.
- 20% take board members to legislative visits.
- Create a GPNP Leader Corps who speak on behalf of the nonprofit sector.
- Increase member participation and partnerships in the GPNP region.

- Work through public policy committee to set policy agenda.
- Create a bi-partisan GPNP caucus.
- Track and publish legislative voting records.
- Develop and disseminate board engagement power point.
- Schedule legislative visits with regional elected officials and legislators for staff and board members.
- Develop criteria for Leader Corps and recruit 15 leaders.
- Host an IOP retreat that focuses on role of the nonprofit sector in saving taxpayer dollars.
- Implement DC Days.
